SSGT Calis Binder felt nauseous. The HMVV12 he was riding in was being tossed about by the rocky terrain. The small jeep, normally built for five fully equipped soldiers was particularly light this afternoon, as only he and his driver, SPC Ryan MacNamara, were inside. This made the lightly armored vehicle extremely susceptible to every minor bump and crevice in the poorly paved road. His tongue was swollen and bleeding, and he had a metallic taste in his mouth. He tried to stand and take the bag off of his head, but his arms were strapped to his back, and his legs were handcuffed together. He tried to speak and struggled to form meaningless moans into comprehensible words with what was left of his tongue. He closed his eyes, yet still they burned. He blinked vigorously trying to tear up and wash out his eyes. He was in a state of utter confusion.
